How to Connect to Your Higher Self

When we plug into the energy of the Divine Intelligence, we share in the attributes of our Higher Power. What once seemed mundane and meaningless, now has purpose. We have an inner compass that guides us along our journey. But how do we connect to our Higher Power?

1. Become aware that you are one with the all powerful Universe. Just like your thumb is part of your hand, your being is part of a Higher Being.

2. Live life from a place of love, not fear. Love every individual and situation as part of the greater Being, just as your fingers and thumb coexist harmoniously as part of your hand.

3.   Live in the present moment. Your Higher power exists only in the present moment. When you venture into the past or future, you’ve lost the connection.

4.   Be a conduit for the attributes of your Higher Power. Express the love, light, peace, joy, abundance, creativity, and other positive attributes that flow through you as you put your ego aside.

5.   Express gratitude for your connection to your Higher Power. What we’re thankful for increases and continues to manifest.

I like what you have to say, but there is no connection to God without accepting his Son, Jesus, first. We have to humble ourselves, ask forgiveness of our sins, and ask Jesus to be our Saviour. Then we will be truly connected to our Creator, and the Holy Spirit will indwell us. True blessings are then available to us, including the eternal security of living with God in Heaven for eternity.

I agree with what you say, but we also have to remember that everyone is on his or her own path and that may or may not include the same religious beliefs.

In order to accept and love one and other we need to transcend the idea of one belief system. I respect and accept your belief in the need to ask forgiveness from Jesus, but I also respect and accept those who do not believe in this requirement.

What is important is that we live our lives in love and respect. We can let our Holy Spirit be the one who judges, not us. Trust that we are connected for all eternity.

  7. Rachel says:

I believe in God but the idea of asking Jesus into your heart to receive god’s gift is a teaching of organized religion. It’s often used as a method of control that steers people into fear and away from free thinking and love. If you believe that is how God came into your life that is perfectly ok. However we should not oppress others with the idea that they cannot be connected to god without speaking those words. Nor should we impose upon others our idealization of who god is in fact. I like the use of the term higher power. It allows for many paths to spiritual living without negativity such as oppression and judgement. It is not our jobs to judge. Live a life out of love and you will likely find yourself headed in the right direction. After all .. God is Love correct?
